We hope that the information below answers all of your questions. If it doesn't, please do contact us by email or phone. We know surprises aren't fun (unless they're a gift of delicious chocolates) so we're fully committed to making sure you have your questions answered before purchasing or attending dinner.
HOW IT ALL WORKS
Your evening begins with a wine tasting reception with the guest winemaker, then you'll head out on a farm tour led by the host farmer to see the fields and learn about the farm's history, operations and products. Your tour concludes in the dining area where tables dressed in white linen and candlelight offer a view of the al fresco kitchen. You will enjoy a delicious family-style meal with produce plucked from the fields you just toured. Throughout the evening you'll hear from the people that have been involved in growing and preparing your dinner, and you're encouraged to ask questions of them.
Please note, participation in the farm tour is not optional.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE FOOD ALLERGIES AND DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
While we certainly respect dietary choices and restrictions,
we're no longer able to offer menu substitutions. Our guest chefs are challenged to create a dynamic menu for a large audience in a very limited kitchen without benefit of a full pantry and simply cannot tailor each course to meet individual dining restrictions.
WHAT COVID PRECAUTIONS ARE YOU TAKING?
- All Plate & Pitchfork staff are fully vaccinated.
- Guests and staff must stay home when experiencing COVID 19 symptoms such as cough, fever, chills, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell.
- Tables will not seat more than 8 guests
- All current health guidance will be followed precisely
HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?
When seats are available you'll find a reservation link on our
Farm Dinner page. Reservations may be made online only. Please make sure that you include a current email address during the reservation process so that you receive confirmation and directions.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?
The ticket price is per person and includes the farm tour as well as all food, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and gratuity.
HOW DOES SEATING WORK?
With rare exceptions, our tables accommodate 8 guests and seating will be assigned. If you'd like to be seated with friends who have reserved their tickets separately please send us a
note with their names and yours and we'll do our very best to make sure you don't have to play a game of musical chairs.
DO I NEED TO PRINT MY TICKET?
Nope! In fact we prefer that you don't.
MAY I CANCEL OR TRANSFER MY RESERVATION?
Refunds are NOT available. You are welcome to transfer your reservation to friends or family or to that nice person you met on Craigslist or Facebook. Please contact us with the new ticket holders information right away so they receive all the relevant event info!
DO YOU HAVE WAITING LISTS FOR SOLD OUT EVENTS?
Yes, you may add your name to the waiting list by sending us an
email.
HOW LONG ARE THE EVENTS?
Unless otherwise noted, our events begin at 5pm and conclude no later than 10pm. The farm tour is approximately 45 minutes.
WILL YOU POST THE MENU BEFORE THE DINNER?
Although our chefs start planning their menus well in advance of their dinner they adjust them as Mother Nature ripens the produce in the field so we don't share menus until you're seated at the table.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING?
Dinner will be held rain or shine. Please bring or wear the appropriate layers. Additionally you will tour the farm before sitting for dinner and the terrain will be uneven, dusty and muddy so please wear sturdy comfortable shoes. High-heels, no matter how comfortable will result in a sinking experience. Our dinners are held on land that is being actively farmed and we do our best not to interfere with that operation, thus we do not install tents or shade structures of any sort. Sunscreen, parasols, sweaters and sunglasses are all appropriate accoutrements.
MAY CHILDREN ATTEND THE DINNERS?
Unfortunately insurance and legal regulations prohibit minors at our events and that includes babes in arms.
DO YOU SEND ME DIRECTIONS?
Yes, indeed we will send you driving directions and an additional location-specific information you'll need for the event. You'll receive this information approximately 7 days prior to your dinner. This is also a great time to make sure we got your seating request!
DO YOU ALLOW ANIMALS AT THE DINNERS?
Although we are fond of pets, they are not permitted at any of our host farm locations.
DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?
Not at this time, but that doesn't mean you can't give our dinners as a gift!
Contact us and we'll do our very best to help you!
THE FINE PRINT
We are fully confident that you will have a safe and enjoyable experience with us on the farm. The Oregon Legislature would like us to remind you that under Oregon law, there is no liability for an injury to or the death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at the farms and vineyards where our dinners are held. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By participating in Plate & Pitchfork, all staff, and guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
