Sauvie Island Center
Sauvie Island Center teaches children and adults about farms, the food they grow, and the landscape in which they exist. Located on beautiful Sauvie Island just outside Portland, Oregon, the Center increases food, farming and environmental literacy in the community. Through the Center's field trip programs, students journey into the fields to learn about farming and its relationship to the land. Hands-on activities include soil and plant investigation, seasonal farm activities, a nature hike, predator/prey activities, and storytelling focused on the cultural history of the island. sauvieislandcenter.org
Sauvie Island Organics CSA Scholarship Fund
Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) is also known as "subscription farming." You buy a subscription from a local farmer just like you buy a subscription to Gourmet or Newsweek. But instead of receiving a magazine each week, you receive a "share" of fresh, locally grown produce. By distributing the cost of the farm’s operations over a group of “shareholders” CSAs offer a viable economic option for small, sustainable farms and connect local farmers with local consumers while developing a regional food supply and strong local economy.

Oregon Tilth Organic Education Center (OEC)
The OEC is located at the historic Luscher Farm, a 63-acre site at the corner of Stafford and Rosemont Roads in Clackamas County, Oregon.
The Center strengthens the health of families and the environment by providing classroom and hands-on opportunities to learn organic gardening and farming practices. Through tours and programs, OEC educates youth and adults about the source of their food, and the ease and abundance of gardening. The Organic Education Center involves collaboration between citizens, business, government, growers, processors, schools and retailers in developing organic education programs, and achieving sustainable regional food security. Workshops and classes focus on organic land management including garden design, permaculture, orchard care, composting and recycling. tilth.org
